How much does transcription cost? Per minute, per file, or subscription?
Prices follow three common models: subscriptions with minute allowances, per-minute pay-as-you-go rates, and flat per-file prices. Human transcription costs far more than machine transcription. DropTranscribe uses a flat price: $2.99 once per file of up to 60 minutes, covering the full transcript plus TXT and SRT downloads, with no subscription and nothing that renews. If a paid transcript fails or is clearly poor, it is refunded on request within 7 days.
Is this a subscription?
No. $2.99 is a one-time payment for one file. Nothing renews and you are never charged again unless you choose to unlock another file.
What do I get for free?
Your first file on a device gets a free preview: we transcribe its first 3 minutes and show about 20% of that transcript, so you can check the accuracy before paying.
What does $2.99 cover?
One audio or video file up to 60 minutes: the complete transcript with timestamps, plus TXT and SRT downloads, available for 7 days.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no signup and no password. Payment is handled on a secure checkout page by our payment provider, Waffo.
Which payment methods are accepted?

Can I get a refund?
