About DropTranscribe

DropTranscribe is a small, independent web tool that turns audio and video files into text. It was built for people who need a transcript now and then (an interview, a lecture, a meeting or a voice memo) and don't want another subscription or account.

What we believe

Try before you pay. Your first file gets a free preview of real output, so you can judge the accuracy on your own recording.
Pay once, per file. Priced by length, from $1.49 (up to 15 minutes) to $4.99 (up to 120 minutes). No subscription, nothing that renews. See pricing.
Keep as little as possible. No accounts. Audio is deleted within 24 hours and transcripts after 7 days at most. Recordings are never used to train models.

How it works

Your browser extracts the audio from the file, so videos are never uploaded in full. The audio is transcribed with Whisper large-v3-turbo, an open speech recognition model, running on Cloudflare's network. The transcript is in the spoken language with timestamps. An optional English translation is made from the finished transcript by an open language model (Llama 3.1 8B), also on Cloudflare. Speakers are not labelled.
