What bilingual subtitles look like

Both languages share a timestamp. Here is an illustrative English-to-Spanish SRT cue:

1
00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:04,000
See you tomorrow.
Hasta mañana.

Choose Original first or Translation first. Translation-only output and the original downloads are also available. Longer text may split within its original time span to keep captions readable.

Who bilingual subtitles help

Use your subtitle file

DropTranscribe produces downloadable subtitle files. It is not a Netflix or YouTube dual-subtitle browser extension, and it does not burn captions into video. For an existing subtitle file, use the subtitle translator.

Questions

What are bilingual subtitles?

Bilingual subtitles display the original language and a translation together in each timed caption. DropTranscribe exports both as stacked lines in one SRT or VTT file, for language learning, multilingual audiences or translation review.

Can I put the translation on top?

Yes. Choose Bilingual, then Translation first. Original first is the default. The order applies to the on-screen preview and SRT, VTT, TXT and DOCX downloads.

Will a bilingual SRT work on YouTube?

You can upload a bilingual SRT as one timed caption track. Both languages are text within that track, so viewers see them together rather than switching between them. Check wrapping and readability in YouTube Studio before publishing.

Can I translate a YouTube video by link?

No. YouTube, TikTok and similar platform links are not supported. Upload an audio or video file you have the right to use, or paste a public Google Drive, Dropbox or direct media-file link.

How long can the video be?

Audio and video files can be up to 120 minutes and 500 MB. Files are processed one at a time. For longer recordings, split them first. Existing SRT or VTT subtitle files have a separate limit of 1 MB and 5,000 cues.
